Ad Lib on Ingram Street has just got even more special as a result of a six figure renovation which tastefully tips its hat to the premises previous life as a fire station. Along with its Hope street sibling they’ve been providing Glasgow with glorious food and that special New York diner vibe since 1976.
This is what a tasteful and imaginative renovation looks like – the stunning marble and clock remain intact as you’d wish – on the Fire Station theme photos of beautiful vintage fire extinguishers and Glasgow’s brave firefighters adorn the walls and the lighting glows with an ember like quality. A burnt wood motif features throughout the restaurant and ties it all together beautifully.
All in all it’s a cosy and classy choice for a date night or a group of close friends.
The menu has been suitably tweaked to focus more on the burger side of things but all the old favourites are there, after all if it aint broke don’t fix it eh? Classic Angus Burgers with Mac’n’Cheese on the side? Who would say no? Especially when they’re cooked so fine. There’s plenty more choice besides (check out the menu on the website) and the Brooklyn Beer battered haddock and chips is to die for.
Ad Lib has some awesome deals for students. 2-4-1 Gourmet Burgers when you download the free app and 10% off all other dishes on the a la carte menu. Also when you show your app when you order you burger you’ll get a stamp on it’s built-in loyalty card giving you your 6th burger free, how about that?
